Peggy Guggenheim: Art Addict (DVD)

A documentary on art collector Peggy Guggenheim, built around audio interviews recorded in the late 1970s by her official biographer Jacqueline Bograd Weld, which provide the film's central voice. Traces Guggenheim's path from an eccentric New York German-Jewish family (her father died on the Titanic; her uncle Solomon founded the Guggenheim Museum) through Bohemian Paris to her role discovering and championing artists including Jackson Pollock, Max Ernst, Wassily Kandinsky, and Marcel Duchamp, culminating in the collection now housed at her Venetian palazzo. Features contemporary commentary from Larry Gagosian, Arne Glimcher, and Marina Abramović. Directed by Lisa Immordino Vreeland, based on Guggenheim's autobiography "Out of This Century, Confessions of an Art Addict." Premiered at the 2015 Tribeca Film Festival.
