Slim Aarons: La Dolce Vita
The fourth volume in Abrams' Slim Aarons collection, tracing his photography of Italy from the 1940s to the 1990s. Aarons first arrived in the country as a combat photographer during World War II, later returned to Rome to shoot for Life, and continued visiting nearly every year for the rest of his career. The book collects his images of aristocracy, cultural elite, and jet-set figures, including Marcello Mastroianni, Ursula Andress, Joan Fontaine, and Tyrone Power, photographed in villas, resorts, and landscapes across the country.
